I want to introduce you to the new member of our family. His name is Finn and he turned 2 on Sept 24. He is a Whippet with fawn-brindle coloring and he weighs about 43 pounds. Every once in a while, he tries to be my lap dog! He's really a big couch potato. He had a successful show career up until the age of 13 months and then he went into retirement and needed a good home. We got him from a wonderful breeder up near Duluth MN. He's a wonderful dog. Here are a few pictures.

Hello! I hope this message finds you in good spirits!

Halloween is over and we're heading toward Thanksgiving.

Halloween is not what it was when I was a child. For the last few years we've gotten very few trick-or-treaters. Maybe things are changing OR maybe we just don't live on a "popular" street. Either way, I buy less candy every year and that's all right with me.

Since my children are too old to play dress-up, I hate sewing or spending money on costumes that will only be worn one time! I made my kids come up with ideas that matched my budget of nothing. Chloe said she wanted to be an angel. My response was "Good...you won't even have to wear a costume!" She didn't think that was very funny even though it was a compliment. Off to the thrift store we went. Josh said he wasn't going to go trick-or-treating because the last few years he's been unable to eat the candy because of his braces. I think he forgot the fact that he got his braces OFF IN JULY. I reminded him of this little bit of information and all of a sudden, he wanted to go. He also thought he'd go and not dress up. I said..."Think again". Together we searched the web for ideas and he settled on going as a bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans. A few balloons, a plastic bag, some cardboard and some computer magic and he was all set.

Here are a couple of Halloween photo to enjoy.
